Ilan Glazer is a student in the Aleph Rabbinic Ordination Program, and was ordained as a Maggid, an Inspirational Speaker and Storyteller in January. Ilan has studied Public Speaking and Communication with the world's top speakers, including T. Harv Eker, Les Brown, and Mark Victor Hansen. Ilan is the Program Coordinator for Costa Rican Adventures' Outdoor Adventure for Jewish Teens and Adventures for Jewish Singles. Since days of old, music has been a foundation of Jewish prayer. Psalm 150 praises God with drums, flute, violin, and cymbals. Miriam and the women danced and drummed after the Exodus from Egypt. A drum circle is a beautiful way of forming a rhythmical community and of expressing our creativity through drumming. Join Ilan Glazer, founder of DrumDaven!, and Andrew Hahn, the Kirtan Rabbi, for an inspiring, participatory musical service. No experience necessary. This service will flow into the Maven Torah Reading scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The siddur is filled with references to trees, air, mountains, rocks, and other parts of the natural world. In prayers designed to connect us to God, why is there so much nature? In this participatory, fun service, we'll explore the inherent connection between the words we pray, the air we breathe, and the world we live in, full of song, story, breath, and nature. Please bring warm clothes for an optional excursion outside if the spirit moves us. Come let the words of Torah and the beauty of nature give you a beautiful beginning to a new day!
