Rabbi Richard Rheins was ordained Rabbi from Hebrew Union College in 1989. He served as Rabbi at Temple Beth El in Chappaqua, New York, and Temple David of Monroeville, Pennsylvania before being named Senior Rabbi at Temple Sinai in Denver, CO. In 1992, he was selected by the Central Conference of American Rabbis to serve on the Responsa Committee and he has authored a number of responsa as well as other scholarly articles. Prayer Services - Shabbat Morning Liberal Egalitarian
This service will be a rich mixture of tradition and liberal spirit. With songs and prayers, Hebrew and English, thoughtful teachings and quiet reflection, men and women of all backgrounds will share in Shabbat morning t'fillah (prayer). This service will flow into Torah study with Rabbi Rheins, following the service, for those who wish to stay.
Parashat Bechukotai
Rabbi Rheins will lead a lively discussion of Parashat Bechukotai. Participants will review both classic and modern commentary and share their opinions and insight. The emphasis will be on discovering the many different perspectives that each of us bring to make Torah vibrant and vital. As it is taught in Pirkei Avot: “Turn it [the Torah] over and over, for it contains everything!”
