Previous Next Presenter ListJo Schaalman
As a nationally ranked diver and coach, Jo was no stranger to competition and pushing her body past its limits. But in 1999 when she took her first yoga class, she realized that she had found a new emotional and physical outlet that would bring more balance to her life. In 2003 she began teaching yoga at Corepower Yoga. Then, in a cycling accident, Jo sustained multiple spinal fractures and loss of movement. It was truly then that her yoga journey began. Over the next 3 years she used yoga to rehabilitate her own body. She now teaches both Baptiste and Forrest yoga. Jo’s intent as a yoga instructor is to guide her students through their own journey of emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. Candlelight Yoga Introduction to Forrest Yoga
Come and discover Forrest Yoga, with Jo Schaalman. As a beginner to Forrest Yoga, you learn to breathe deeply and connect in feeling with your body. As you progress, you get proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you; particularly with physical and emotional injuries. Learning to work honestly at your edges, you develop effective tools to deal with fear and struggle. This makes it possible for integrity, self awareness, and playful curiosity to become part of your daily life. While there is no Jewish content in this class, it will help prepare mind and body for the rest and renewal of Shabbat.
