As an American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee professional, Jennifer has worked to enhance educational, cultural, and human service programs in developing Jewish communities throughout the world - with the aim of fostering communal self-sufficiency. In her 14-year career with the JDC, Jennifer has worked in Israel, Bombay, Kiev, and throughout the former Soviet Union. Which global Jewish communities today are considered the most vulnerable and what are some of the challenges faced? Through personal stories, you will "meet" individuals in Israel, Argentina, Ethiopia, Eastern Europe, and the Former Soviet Union who are not only struggling to survive, but yearning to connect to their Jewish roots. We will also discuss the critical role that North American Jewry is playing in the rescue, relief, and reconstruction of these communities.
