Rose Community Foundation As Senior Program Officer at Rose Community Foundation since 1997, Lisa Farber Miller directs the Jewish Life program area and has created many grant initiatives including The Endowment Challenge, Rose Youth Foundation, BOOST (Building Organizational Operating Strength Together), Live On: Build Your Jewish Legacy, the Next Generation Initiative, and Roots & Branches Foundation. She was a consultant to nonprofits prior to joining the Foundation. Co-author of the book Nonprofit Piggy Goes to Market, Lisa was also the editor of Apples & Honey, a publication for young Jewish families. Tutorial: How to Apply for the Rose Learning Grants
Experts from Rose Community Foundation will help you write your application for the Rose Jewish Learning Grants available only to Limmud Colorado participants. Rose Community Foundation invites you to create new Jewish learning programs and activities that build upon or are inspired by the Limmud experience. The goal is to foster the development of new Jewish educational activities and programs that bring Jews together to learn. Applicants may apply for up to $1,000. Individuals and nonprofit organizations may apply. This tutorial will enable you to submit your completed application today.
Be a Philanthropist Foundations and Strategic Philanthropy
This session will pierce the veil of the foundation world to give you the tools you need to become a philanthropist and will demystify foundation philanthropy and how foundations work. You will learn about trends in Jewish giving nationally and study Jewish philanthropic traditions. Through a hands-on activity you will explore different approaches to giving and practice strategic philanthropy. Participants will learn about how to create a philanthropy plan and explore how tzedakah and strategy can inform giving.
